Thursday, February 15 • 7:30p Eastern

Darcy Ford-James, co-founder and director of Stockton Soul, will lead this session exploring the roots and elements of Black American Music. Resources and lessons will be shared for students of various levels, and participants will be encouraged to participate in a sample lesson that can be used in your own classrooms.

Stockton Soul is an outlet for artists and creatives working within the fold of Black American Music. Not only is it a vehicle to inspire the community, but it seeks to encourage all students to pursue careers in music and to feel at ease with their musical preferences. It uses live music to educate about the beautiful elements and movements in Black American Music and their inextricable links to American History.
